Law as a Profession

 

The focus of this four year comprehensive program, through service learning and an interdisciplinary approach, is preparation for public service careers related to public safety. All courses are taught in conjunction with John Jay College of Criminal Justice and the Justice Resource Center. Law influences every aspect of our lives. As a member of a family, as a worker, as an entrepreneur, as a tax payer, each of us is affected by the law. Therefore, law-related education is of prime concern if students are to become active and productive citizens in today's society. Curtis offers two four-year legal studies strands in preparation for a college path in the legal field. Both programs provide students with in-depth studies of law and its applications in our society and world. The Human and Legal Studies small learning community provides understanding of and preparation for law-related careers in the business world as well.
